We dubbed this the "sleek & chic cocktail table"... Warm caramel pintuck linen & black pintuck napkins add texture & elegance. Beautiful Grape Heart wood has that driftwood feel...sleek black vases topped with green spider mums & curly cabbage complete the look. The chic martini glasses are just waiting to be filled!
I wanted to share some of the photos from our recent “Open Barn ~ Bridal Faire”. It is so much fun to showcase ideas for our couples to consider for their celebrations. I love to design & dream up unique combinations with texture & fun color palettes. Since I talk to brides on a daily basis discussing their ideas, I see trends & the popular colors of the season coming together. One of the most challenging aspects of weddings for most of our brides seems to be selecting their colors & trying to envision how it will all look on their wedding day.

Burlap overlay on lavender lamour with twine tied napkins & my collection of various sized antique mason jars was very popular! Lush florals in rich tones of purple add style... Mason jars for beverages & tiny jars with tea lights complete the setting. Vintage is very popular & blends so beautifully with our historic Red Horse Barn!
That is one of the things that just flashes into my head when I hear their ideas…I can easily envision what will look good (I’m not really going for good but fabulous!) together to showcase their look & style. I really enjoy helping each bride to put the finishing touches together to complete their picture. “Picture” & photos are big words in my idea of design. I always think of the final look as to how it will show in photos. I hesitate to suggest white or ivory on the tables as the bride will just “blend in” with the room. I think every bride is the “star of the show” & shouldn’t blend into anything! So don’t be afraid of color, it can add a powerful element to any table, flowers & the overall look of your wedding.

Antique glass of various sizes with spring blossoms bring romance & style to this table topped with a beautiful silk scarf over primrose lamour linens & lavender lamour napkins
When I design the tables for our Open Barn events, I work with Cathy Brooks of Visual Impact Design. She & I have been collaborating together on weddings for over 15 years & really have fun working with & designing for our brides. We start by discussing the popular colors we are both seeing & then I select the linens we will use & then I gather some of my treasured antique silver, copper, glass & other pieces of décor to design a theme for each table. I share the colors of flowers & my ideas with Cathy just a bride would & then let her do her magic by bringing the flowers & additional vases & unique pieces of her choice to put the finishing touch on each table.
We both love to be inspired by nature & the seasons & always come up with beautiful combinations that appeal to a variety of tastes. I love it when our guests attend the event & say… “You put together exactly what I had in mind but I couldn’t describe it & it is even better than I imagined”. That is our goal…to capture the imagination in ways that will provide a unique feel & bring out your style!

"Hot Hot Pink" Perfect for a bright fun summer wedding or to add heat anytime of year! This fuschia rosette linen is fabulous...Antique silver vessels with bright pink florals & elegant orchids, mercury glass & reinstone candle holders complete the look
The photos included with this article were taken by the talented Rick & Lee Siegel of Seigel’s Portraits & Design. Again, flowers designed by the amazing Cathy Brooks of Visual Impact. Our next Open Barn ~ Bridal Faire will be coming up on April 22nd. If you would like to attend, just let me know!
